Cheryl A. DesjardinsMarlborough – Cheryl A. (Downer) Desjardins, 63, of Marlborough, died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at UMass Memorial Health – Marlborough Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Stuart F. and Joyce (Healy) Downer and the wife of Michael C. Desjardins. She was the wife of the late John P. Armour who died in 2003 and the sister of the late Leslie Downer.

Besides her husband, Cheryl is survived by her daughter Caylie Andrews and her husband Adam of Marlborough, her granddaughter, Ava, her brother Stuart Downer Jr. of Marlborough, and her sisters, Cindy Rhodes and her husband Matthew of Wareham and Linda Minnucci and her husband Joseph of Marlborough. Additionally, Cheryl is survived by her three step-children; Jennifer Whittaker, Janean Desjardins and Michael Desjardins, as well as step grandchildren, Kaylee, Tyler, Penny, Noah, Callie and Austin, and two step-great grandchildren, Brady and Josie. Cheryl leaves behind her nieces and nephews James, Jarrod and Patrick Rhodes, Samantha Downer, Gina, Leah and Nicholas Minnucci; Shaun Armour, Matthew Armour and Ashley Brown, and great-nieces Addie, Emmie, Charlie, Nora and Penelope and great-nephews Christian, Cole and Wesley. Further, Cheryl is survived by her two brother in-laws, Richard Armour and his wife Mary, Thomas Armour and his wife Amy and her sister in-law, Lydia Armour. Cheryl was predeceased by her brother in-law James Armour.

Cheryl was a Marlborough High School graduate and continuing her education at Bridgewater State College (now University), graduating with a degree in Social Work. Cheryl worked in the social work field briefly upon graduating, and then went on to work for Captive Images for most of her adult life.

Growing up, Cheryl spent most of her summers down in Wareham with her family and close childhood friends. She continued to make memories throughout adulthood, spending her days on her father and sister’s boats. Cheryl vacationed in New Hampshire for nearly 30 years with her immediate family and close friends, and made new friendships along the way, relationships that grew to be some of the most important ones she had. Cheryl enjoyed keeping her brain and her mind busy, doing crossword puzzles, playing sudoku and reading.  Cheryl was a doting Nana, always looking forward to seeing the light of her life, Ava. and enjoyed spending time with her many step-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. The funeral service will be private.
