Barbara A. VezeauHudson – Barbara A. Vezeau, 76, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA, on Thursday, August 31st, 2023, surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of fifty-two years, John P. Vezeau of Hudson, MA.

Barbara was born in Newton, MA, the daughter of the late Oliver and Margaret (Powers) Kuronen. She was raised in West Newton, attended local schools, and graduated from Newton High School before attending the Katharine Gibbs School. She worked as a purchasing agent for Boyd Coating and Research Company for 20-plus years until her retirement in 2013. She was a member of the Riverside Gun Club in Hudson, MA, and a member of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Post 208, Hudson, MA. Both Barbara and John have resided in Hudson for over forty-nine years.

Besides her husband, Barbara leaves her two sons, Christopher Vezeau and his wife Mindy of Hudson, MA, Keith Vezeau and his wife Michelle of Auburn, MA, and her five grandchildren, Claudia Vezeau, Rebecca Vezeau, Emily Vezeau, Morgan Droogan, and Michael Droogan. She is also survived by her two brothers, Michael Kuronen and his wife Jane of Newton, MA, and David Kuronen and his wife Cheryl Cotter of Newport, RI, along with her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. She was predeceased by her brother, John Kuronen, and sister, Mary Peg Layton.

Barbara had many hobbies and interests throughout her life; working in the garden and playing cards were a few. However, spending time with her family, especially later with her grandchildren, was always special. She was very active as a Hudson AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary member, working tirelessly on many service projects. Barbara and John looked forward to attending the AMVETS National Conventions held yearly at different locations in the United States. She always looked forward to vacationing in Aruba and trips to Wells, Maine. She leaves many cherished memories for those who loved and knew her, and they will miss her greatly.

Barbara’s life will be celebrated at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA, on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends may attend a visitation period from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service. Committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
