Christopher M. AhlquistCharlton/Grafton – Christopher M. “Chris” Ahlquist, 61, passed away at home September 20, 2023.

He is survived by his siblings Jacquelyn Hart of Grafton, Richard D. Ahlquist, Jr. and his wife Linda of Naples, FL, Robb Ahlquist and his wife Madeleine of Shrewsbury, Gary Ahlquist and his wife Suzy of Naples, FL, Melissa Diamantis of West Brookfield, Craig Ahlquist and his wife Mary of Hookset, NH, Jennifer Subotin and her husband Goran of San Jose, CA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Bill Hart.

Chris was born December 11, 1961 in Worcester, MA, son of the late Jeanne (Ratte) and Richard Ahlquist. His roots were in Grafton where graduated and was the Valedictorian of his class at Grafton High School. His love of animals nearly led him to a career in veterinary medicine before he ultimately went on to work in the Finance industry.

Away from work Chris was known for his intellect, his varied interests that included gardening, cooking and home decorating, tending to his yard and gardens, sports cars, his daily crossword puzzles and of course animals, especially Great Danes. In recent years if you were driving through Charlton in the morning you may have seen Chris on his daily 5 mile walk which brought him great peace.

Chris led a private life and treasured time with his close circle of friends and particularly his loving family. Recent years he spent in Charlton brought about better days for Chris, something his family takes solace in for the blessing that they were.

Funeral services and burial for Chris will be private at his family’s request.

Please honor him with a donation to the MSPCA at www.MSPCA.org.

A Book of Memories is available online to share a special message with his family at www.RoneyFuneralHome.com.
