Walter J. Nosek Jr.Hudson – Walter J. Nosek, Jr., 83, of Hudson, MA, passed on Wednesday October 25, 2023, at UMass Memorial Hospital after a short illness with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Frances A. (Fortugno) Nosek, also of Hudson, MA.

Walter was born in Clinton, MA, to his parents, the late Walter J. Nosek, Sr., and Mary M. (McLaughlin) Nosek, on April 15, 1940.

In addition to his beloved wife Frances, Walter leaves his daughters Bonnie (Nosek) Donovan and her husband Jack of Hudson, MA, Jeanne (Nosek) Lazzaro and her partner Glenn Besse of Worcester, MA, Susan (Nosek) Nemetz of Sutton, MA, and Patricia (Nosek) Majenski and her husband David of Hanson, MA; sisters Bernice “Bunny” Nosek of Worcester, MA, and Jeanne Hancock and her husband Steve of Worcester, MA; grandchildren Matt Donovan and his wife Katie, Erin Donovan, Kelsey Donovan, Michael Lazzaro, Alicia Lazzaro, Hailey Phelps and her husband Benjamin, Jaden Nemetz, Leah Nemetz, Adam Majenski and his wife Hailey, Shane Majenski, Gabrielle Majenski, and Julia Majenski; great-grandchildren Jeannette Donovan, Asher Majenski, Kai Majenski, and Avery Phelps; sister-in-law Ingrid Nosek; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Walter J. Nosek, Sr. and mother Mary (McLaughlin); brother Paul Nosek of New Boston, NH; and sisters Barbara Aversa of Agawam, MA, and Frances Nosek of Clifton Park, NY.

Born and raised in Clinton, MA, Walter attended Clinton High School, and later excelled as a sales representative for Procter & Gamble. Walter was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

Walter was an avid sports fan, with a particular enthusiasm for all New England teams. Apart from his love of sports, he also enjoyed reading, especially the newspaper, playing cards, visiting with his many friends around town, and trips with his wife. He also loved to make special meals for his family, including his famous chicken soup, scrambled eggs, and baked beans. And, more than anything, Walter loved spending time with, and enjoying the family vacation home in Fitzwilliam, NH, surrounded by his adoring family. Wally was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed by all that loved him.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4pm-7pm at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A brief period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, beginning at 9am, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10am at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home; a procession to St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster, MA, will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Walter’s memory to Susan G. Komen or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
