Jeremy G. WelchShrewsbury – Jeremy “Jerry” G. Welch, 52, of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Middletown, CT after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Chin Sun; his two daughters that he adored, Samantha Welch and Sabrina Welch both of Shrewsbury; his parents, Paul R. and Shirley A. (Cimochowski) Welch of Webster; two brothers, Paul R. Welch Jr. and his wife, Angela of Shrewsbury and Adam J. Welch of Webster.

He was born and raised in Worcester graduating from South High Community School in 1989, served in the United States Army and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College. Jerry worked at National Grid for over 20 years with his past 10 years as a truck driver.

Jerry was a kind hearted and generous man who always put his wife and daughters first. He was a wonderful husband and a hero to his daughters. The love he had for his family was truly unconditional. Jerry would consistently be the person to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was a simple car repair, maintenance project or helping with any project in the home. Jerry loved taking rides on his motorcycle, going to Purgatory Chasm and watching fireworks with his family. When he was not at work or spending time with his family he could often be found at the Carney Park in Northboro walking his dog, Buddy. Jerry found joy in watching Buddy play with other dogs and getting exercise while he talked with friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, October27 at 11:30 AM in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to support Samantha and Sabrina’s college expenses.
