Westborough – Annette Evans Shindler, 103, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Westborough, MA, on December 10, 2023.
She was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Samuel B and Myrtle (Huber) Evans on May 17, 1920, and lived most her life in Lancaster County until moving to Massachusetts to live with her daughter in 2012.
She was predeceased by Carlton, her husband of 72 years, by sisters Mignon Bowman and Eleanor Henderson and brothers Mark and John. She will be missed by her children Glenn Shindler (Judith), La Canada, CA, Cordelia Kaminski, Westborough, MA and Lyndell Weeks (Richard), Nashville, TN, four grandchildren (John Thomas and Benjamin Kaminski, Catherine Kaminski Gebers, and Brandi Shindler) and three great grandchildren (Charlie and Chloe Kaminski, Wells Gebers).
Annette graduated from Millersville State Teachers College and taught kindergarten in the Hempfield School District until retirement in 1977. She enjoyed traveling and being a snowbird. She was a long-time member of the Church of the Apostles, Rohrerstown, PA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations might be made to the Church of the Apostles or the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Foundation (furnishes age-appropriate books free of charge to pre-school children ages birth to 5 years).
