Jean M. HopeNorthborough – Jean Marie Hope, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Coleman House in Northborough. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Lee Hope to whom she was married to for 67 years.

Born in Glen Lyon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley F. and Lillian M. (Rutkoski) Lipski. She was educated in Glen Lyon and graduated from Newport High School in Wanamie, PA in 1952. She also attended and graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Following graduation, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital prior to staying home to raise her family.

Jean had been a resident of Hopkinton, MA for many years and enjoyed cake decorating, baking, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Theresa M. Goodwin of Upton, Larry Hope and his wife, Carol, Susan M. Pickering and her husband, David, of Westborough and Linda M. Hope of Westborough: four grandchildren, Dan Hope, Andrew Pickering and his fiancé, Amanda, Carson Hope and Matthew Pickering and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Herbert Lipski and her sister, Norma Ressler.

Jean’s family extends their gratitude to the staffs of the Coleman House and Notre Dame hospice for their compassionate care.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
