Shrewsbury – Sean C. Connolly, 55, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024.
He leaves his daughter, Brandi Taylor Connolly and her wife Olivia Martinez, of Tempe, AZ; his mother, Paula (Hanrahan) Connolly, of Shrewsbury; his sister, Deirdre M. Connolly, MD and her husband Mike Rigney, of Chelmsford; his nieces, Katherine Lee Rigney, of Chelmsford, Grace Shea Rigney, of Milwaukee, WI, and Clare Burns Rigney, of Madison, WI; a nephew, Edward Connolly Rigney, of Chicago, IL; and his lifelong best friend, Timmy Coughlin, of Shrewsbury.
Sean was born in Gardner, to Paula (Hanrahan) and the late Leo Warren Connolly, II. He was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, graduating with Shrewsbury High School’s Class of 1988.
He held multiple jobs over the years, working as a cook at Grumpy’s in East Dennis, Cyprian Keyes in Boylston, and in the Grand Canyon, AZ.
Sean was an avid hockey player, and loved to ski. The Red Sox and Patriots were his favorite teams to cheer on.
Sean struggled with internal demons and addiction, but always had a kind word, lent a helping hand, and had a strong Catholic faith.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Connolly family from 4 – 6:30 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday April 5th at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
