Grafton – Fredric “Fred” Ziolkowski, 82, passed away peacefully at home April 16, 2024.
He leaves his children Anthony Ziolkowski, Marissa Ziolkowski her partner Joseph Zifchock and his bonus daughter Melissa Mathieu and her husband Eric, his siblings James Weston, Norman and Steven Ziolkowski and Mary Sue Knerr, grandchildren Anthony, Kyle, Jacqui, Abigail, Briana, Joseph, Owen and Alexandria, great-grandchildren Aislyn and Wyatt and several nieces and nephews.
Fred’s roots were in Ohio. He was born in Toledo, son of the late Irene (Kujawa) and John Ziolkowski. He was a graduate of St. Francis De Sales High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from The University of Illinois.
He worked at Radant Technology in Stow, MA for many years, retiring just a few weeks prior to his passing. Fred was always passionate about his work, collaborating with his colleagues and was determined to stay in his career as long as he could. Closer to home Fred found joy in his garden or in the kitchen cooking for his family and delighting in them enjoying the time and his food.
All are welcome to gather with Fred’s family and friends Friday April 19th from 4pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 20th at 12pm at St. James Church 89 Main St. S. Grafton, MA 01560. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
