Region – Massachusetts Representative Kate Hogan (D-Stow) and Senator James Eldridge, along with Jennifer Ferrari and Cathleen Carlino, co-chairs of the Hudson Cultural Council, have announced the award of 13 grants totaling $11,400 for cultural programs in Hudson and the surrounding area. There were 16 grant application requests totaling $48,788 to be considered.
Grants were awarded to the Assabet Valley Camera Club, Assabet Valley Mastersingers, The Discovery Museums, Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, Hudson Public Library, Hudson Division of Recreation, Hudson High School, Nashoba Friends of Music, River’s Edge Arts Alliance, Sounds of Stow and Symphony Pro Musica.
“Congratulations to the many impressive organizations that were awarded grant funding from the Hudson Cultural Council this year,” said Hogan. “Through a range of different mediums – whether it be music, dance, art, photography, hands-on learning or recreational experiences – these grant recipients engage our residents with invaluable cultural programming. I’m proud that the state legislature continues to appropriate funding for the Massachusetts Cultural Council each year, and I’m delighted when I see these dollars translate to meaningful programs that touch the lives of the performer, artist, and audience member.”
The Hudson Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the commonwealth. [sam_pro id=0_17 codes=”true”]The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
