Gloria A. WalshShrewsbury – Gloria A. (Kattor) Walsh, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center with her loving family beside her. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Richard B. Walsh Sr., who died Oct. 11, 2006 and her son, Richard Walsh, who passed in 1993.

She is survived by her son, Brian J. Walsh of Worcester, and two daughters, Deborah Limanek of Whitinsville and Cheryl A. Haire and her companion Roger “Butch” Felch of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Michael Walsh and his wife Jean, Richie Walsh and wife Heather, Elizabeth Blythe, Chris Walsh and Joey Walsh and his wife Sherry, and Jesse Limanek and wife Arlene; seven grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; her niece, Sandra Leroux; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Collette and Betty Pichierri; her best friend, Connie Ledoux; and her dog Roxanne. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Kattor, and a brother, Henry Orn.

Gloria was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Remillard) Kattor; and had lived in Shrewsbury most of her life. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s Catholic School.

For many years, Gloria and her husband were the owners and operators of Auburn Sand & Gravel Company.

Gloria loved to read, play and watch tennis, enjoyed her time at the Cape and Florida. She was a true Patriots fan. She loved to travel with her husband, Richard. She was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Calling hours for Gloria will be held Monday, Feb. 12, from 4-7 p.m., in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m., in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gloria to a charity of one’s choice.
