Westborough’s Holiday House Tour Dec. 8

235

Westborough – The annual Holiday House Tour sponsored by the Westborough Women’s Club will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. This year’s tour includes five homes and will begin at the Congregational Church, 57 W. Main St., where you may purchase tickets for $25 per person. Tour-goers will be treated to holiday refreshments in the church vestry beginning at 12:30 p.m. (Please no high heels; photography or children will not be allowed.)

For those wishing to purchase tickets in advance, they may do so by calling Kathy Wilfert at 508-654-3762 or purchasing them at the Town Clerk’s Office. The Westborough Women’s Club has sponsored this annual fundraiser for over 20 years. Proceeds from the sale of tickets go to support scholarships to Westborough students, fuel assistance to those in need, as well as other local projects.

Co-chairs Sally Petersen and Polly Thayer announced that this year’s tour will include a new home built and designed by a young couple. The multi-generational home features two master suites and a grand kitchen to accommodate the whole family and is a totally redesigned, reconfigured and updated ranch style home with an exterior restored exactly to mid-1800s, a completely contemporary interior, and beautifully manicured grounds. The home is significant in Westborough’s history as part of the town’s brickmaking industry.

The Westborough Women’s Club has supported the community for 102 years through events, programs, scholarships, and annual donations to the Veterans Inc., Abby’s House, and the Westborough Food Pantry. Membership is open to all women ages 18 years or older and from any town. For membership or meeting information, contact Carmel at 508-425-3302.
