Mabel A. Moossa, 85Shrewsbury – Mabel A. (Nader) Moossa, 85, a longtime Shrewsbury resident and devoted wife, mother, grandmother “sito” great,grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 in her home, with the family she loved so much gathered beside her.

Mabel was born in Majlyi, Lebanon, a daughter of David T. and Mabel (Zeidan) Nader. She came to the U.S. as a very small child, arriving at Ellis Island in New York. She then grew up in the Millbury Street neighborhood of Worcester, met and married the love of her life and devoted husband of the next 67 years, George K. Moossa Sr. Together they moved to Shrewsbury to raise their family and have lived there ever since.

Mabel is survived by her husband George; her devoted children, Maryann T. Belinskas and her husband David, and George K. Moossa, Jr. all of Shrewsbury, Catherine R. Moossa of Marlboro and her lifelong friend, Terry Frias, Barbara P. Roughan and her husband John of Cambridge; two adoring brothers, Michael A. Nader of Shirley, Theodore D. “Ted” Nader of Holden and Palm Beach, Florida. A granddaughter, Tracey Belinskas and her husband Paul Roach, a granddaughter in law, Tara Belinskas; two great grandchildren Shane and Dylan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her grandson, Keith Belinskas passed away in 2011, and three siblings, Maurice and Joseph Nader, and Rita Nabhan also predeceased her.

Mabel was very active in her faith; she was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, its women's guild and the National Apostolate of Maronites Association. Mabel was also very active in St Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. She taught CCD, and counseled the CYC Youth Group. Most important, in Mabel's life was her family, she found her most enjoyable times with them, entertaining and cooking for her large family , her friends, and gardening. This is what inspired her and gave her joy in her life.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, Sept. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 8 from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 341 June St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
