GRAFTON – Community members are invited to support Grafton’s Boy Scout Troop 107 when it holds its spring bottle drive on Saturday, April 2 at the Grafton Municipal Center.
Money raised will help fund the scouts’ campouts, activities, community service projects, and routine expenses. Ten percent of bottle drive earnings are also donated to a local charity.
“We appreciate your continued support!” the troop wrote in a press release announcing their event.
Individuals should rinse out bottles and cans before bringing them to the scouts.
The scouts ask donors to also pre-sort their containers between soda cans, beer cans, glass items and one liter, two liter and smaller plastic “personal size” drinks.
Donors will be directed to a place to leave their containers. Observing physical distancing, scouts will then retrieve containers for processing.
Scouts will be available to help those needing assistance getting containers from their car. In those cases, individuals should signal an adult leader who will send someone to collect containers while a donor remains in their car.
Scouts and parents will be working in family units, in shifts, with masks and gloves, while maintaining physical distancing.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will run at the back of the Municipal Center, which is located at 30 Providence Road.
“We appreciate your continued support!” the Troop 107 wrote in a press release announcing their event.
Grafton residents who can’t attend this event can schedule a home pickup by emailing [email protected] with their name and address.
Those utilizing home pickup options should leave their cleaned and pre-sorted containers and leave in a highly visible spot by 8 a.m. on April 2.
The scouts will hold additional summer and fall bottle drives in July and November of this year.
