Grafton American Legion and VFW commemorate Veterans Day

Grafton - American Legion Post 92, Delisle Goulet, in Grafton -- joined by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497 of South Grafton -- recognized Veterans’ Day 2015 with a ceremony at the Legion post Nov. 11. In a misting, cold rain, before a crowd of 100 veterans, families, and friends, post members and guests saluted the US Flag, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and heard a prayer, followed by “It is the Soldier,” read by the post chaplain. The ceremony then completed, those assembled adjourned for lunch.

Grafton Selectmen address multiple issues

Grafton - With few exceptions, the Grafton Board of Selectmen dealt expeditiously with a number of items at the Nov. 3 meeting. The board voted to sign a contract with Graves Engineering for services relating to the Stowe Road Drainage Improvement Project. At the fall Special Town Meeting, the town voted to approve $50,000 to study the feasibility of repairing a chronic water drainage problem at 38-40 Stowe Road which has resulted in an ever-growing chasm between the properties there.

Grafton boys’ soccer team’s love of playing reaps rewards

Grafton – Playing for the love of the game has always been a cornerstone of high school sports, and perhaps no area team knows that better than the 2015 edition of Grafton High School (GHS) boys’ varsity soccer. Head coach David Mitchell uses the term “field rats” to describe the current team.
