Worcester - The number 1 seed Marlborough High School Panthers boys basketball team defeated the number 5 seed Hopkinton High School Hillers by a score of 55-40 in a Central Mass. Division 2 semi-final playoff game held March 2. The game was played at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Harrington Auditorium.

Region - The weather held out on Oct. 15 for over 300 runners participating in the 2nd Mary Beth Benison (MBB) Foundation 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run. The foundation uses the MBBF 5k as a way to honor the late Mary Beth Benison, a Northborough resident who passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2015 and another individual from Central Massachusetts who is living with ALS or who has passed away from ALS. This year’s race was in memory of Maryellen Standring who lived in Holden and passed away from ALS in 2014.

Worcester – The hot summer sun isn’t the only generator of intense heat found in this region as the calendar vaults from June into July.
