Local couple celebrates 75th wedding anniversary

Hudson/Northborough – In a day and age where nearly half of marriages in the U.S. end in divorce, a local couple have truly been the exception to that statistic. This year, on Aug. 5, Walter and Phyllis Munyon celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. The couple was married in St. Luke's Church in Hudson in 1939 just before the United States became involved in WWII. In 1941 they moved from Hudson to Berlin.

Algonquin wins varsity track invitational

Region - Shrewsbury High School hosted the girls' track and field Varsity District Invitational April 27 in Shrewsbury. The girls competed in several track and field events including javelin, discus, long jump, and hurdles. Algonquin Regional High School placed first with 93 points, Wachusett Regional High School came in second with 71 points, and host Shrewsbury High School's 69 points put them in third place. Hudson High School was right behind with 33 points (fifth place), while Westborough High School's 26 points put them in seventh place.
