Ready, set, row!

Shrewsbury – While thousands of elite athletes were competing at the Olympic Games in London, thousands of spectators traveled to Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury to watch more than 2,000 elite rowers compete in nearly 200 different events. The 2012 US Rowing Masters National Championships held Aug. 9 to 12, was hosted by the Quinsigamond Rowing Association.

In addition to providing strong visibility for the local rowing community, the event provided a welcome boost to the local hospitality industry.
