New martial arts studio to offer seminar with world champions
Westborough – Renowned mixed martial artists Mark DellaGrotte and Daniel Gracie will be the guest speakers at the grand opening of the Prototype Integrated Martial Arts Studio Saturday, April 12 starting at 10 a.m.
DellaGrotte, of Spike TV’s Ultimate Fighter 4 and Gracie, a world ju-jitsu champion, will be speaking about and demonstrating effective striking and grappling techniques for self-defense.
The Prototype Integrated Martial Arts Studio has an affiliation with the Daniel Gracie Brazilian jujitsu studio. Brazilian jujitsu emphasizes the use of leverage and ground technique that allows smaller and sometimes weaker fighters to prevail against larger opponents. Brazilian jujitsu also promotes physical fitness and character building. Frank Passos, the lead instructor at the studio, also stresses the importance of building students up, both emotionally and physically.
The fee for the seminar is $50 pre-registered and $75 at the door. (The fee will be waived for anyone who signs up for a six-week trial session.) The seminar will be followed by a Brazilian barbeque.
The studio is located at 50 East Main St. To register for the seminar email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information call 508-366-1028.
