Verizon Wireless donates grants to two agencies that assist victims of domestic violence

Shrewsbury – Two Worcester-based organizations received grants June 26 courtesy of Verizon Wireless which will help them empower victims of domestic violence.

Eric Letourneau, the manager of the Shrewsbury Verizon Wireless store at 77 Boston Turnpike, presented checks to representatives of the two organizations, Employers Against Domestic Violence (EADV) and Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Central Mass., in a short ceremony held at the store. EADV received a check for $20,000 and YWCA received $10,000.

Westborough – Residents and guests got a head start celebrating the holiday June 26 by attending the annual Westborough July 4th Family Block Party on West Main Street. Among the activities for family fun were a bounce house, dunk tank, sand art, airbrush tattoos, food concessions, and pony and horse-drawn carriage rides.

Grafton Farmers Market offers fresh food and much more

Grafton – Where can you find colorful produce, beautiful flowers, delicious baked goods, adorable alpacas and talented musicians? Starting Thursday, June 25, you can find them all at the Grafton Farmers Market. The popular seasonal market, which will be held on the Grafton Common every Thursday through Oct. 8 from 2 – 6:30 p.m., has been bringing fresh food and more to the community since 2009.
