Hudson starts season with a win over Algonquin

Northborough – The visiting Hudson High School Hawks softball team defeated the Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks by a score of 14-0 in the season opener for both teams, in a game played on April 10.

Hudson’s Sophia Togneri threw a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits.  Togneri also hit a triple and a single and drove in two runs in the victory. Amanda Doucette homered and drove in three runs, while Megan Miller also had three RBIs.

Gabi Thompson, Emily Philbrook and Mia McAuliffe were the only Algonquin batters to record a hit in the game.
