Grafton::‘Pop-up’ holiday art gallery in Grafton beginning Nov. 1

Grafton – The Blackstone Valley Art Association has set up a “pop-up” Holiday Gallery at 1 Grafton Common on the first floor. It will be open for six weeks, from Wednesday, Nov. 1, to Sunday, Dec. 17. Hours will be Wednesday to Friday from 12-6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 12-5 p.m. The gallery will feature original art, framed photography as well as matted art, prints and photography, priced for gift-giving. There will be cards and other hand-painted accessories.

Come by to meet the artists at a reception, Thursday, Nov. 16, from 5-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. On Saturday, Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m., learn how to make origami folding ornaments with Lisa Shea. On Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1-3 p.m., Carol Arnold, a Putney Painter with Richard Smith, and an award-winning portrait artist, will hold a portrait demonstration.

The 15 artists involved with the pop-up gallery are Janet Aleid, painter; Joe Altruda, photographer; Carol Arnold, painter; Deb Bottomley, painter; Gary Cunningham, painter; Bonnie Frederico, painter; Carol Frieswick, painter; Muriel Funka, fabric arts; Betty Havens, painter; James Hunt, photographer; Katie Messina, painting and photography; Lisa Shea, painting and photography; Beverly Tinklenberg, painter; and Al Weems, photographer.
