Edith L. Gaucher, 93Marlborough – Edith L. (Damico/Dalessio) Gaucher,93, of died at home Saturday July 16, 2011, after being stricken ill. She was the wife of the late Roger A. Gaucher, who died in 1981.

She leaves her children, Ron Gaucher of Marlborough and Karen Widener of Florida; a sister, Susan Nicodemo of Saratoga, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Dalessio of Hudson; her granddaughter, Kim Scheller and her husband Jason of Pennsylvania; and three great-grandchildren Katelyn, Calvin and Alison. She also leaves her sisters-in-law Ann Damico and Theresa Duca, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Damico, Mary Silva and her husband Manual, Josephine Derosier and her husband Earl, Anne DiEorio and her husband Kelly, and her brothers-in-law, Albert Nicodemo and Tony Duca. She was mother-in-law to the late Carol Gaucher and Robert Widener.

Born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Panflio and Margherita (Damico) Damico, she moved to Marlborough in the 1930s and was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Charlles Dallessio. She attended Marlborough schools and was a long-time member of St. Ann's Parish, where she was a devoted Catholic and gave countless hours working on church committees and being a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Marlborough Senior Citizens and the Daughters of Italy. She traveled all around by bus with her husband throughout New England and the eastern seaboard, and enjoyed going to Hawaii with her husband.

The funeral will be held Friday July 22, at 8 a.m., from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St.,Marlborough, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday July 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
