Northborough – Eva (Westerlund) Belding, 84, died Saturday July 16, 2011, at Beaumont at Northborough. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John H. Belding.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, she grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., graduated from Bay Ridge High School, and attended Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute in Farmingdale, N.Y. She lived in Hyde Park, N.Y., for many years, working at the former Hudson River State Hospital before retiring to Franklin, N.C. She was a passionate gardener and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a brother, Frank Westerlund and his wife, Dorothy, of Yuma, Ariz., and her children, John H. Belding Jr. and his wife Meredith Weiss of North Grafton; Wayne Belding and his wife Miriam Sproul of Boulder, Col.; Barbara, wife of Carmine Rinaldi of Hyde Park, N.Y.; Janice, wife of Bert Beatty of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Douglas and his wife Deborah of Hyde Park, N.Y. She also leaves nine grandchildren, including Abby Wojnas and her husband Joe of Belchertown and Ethan Belding of North Grafton. In addition, she leaves three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Curtis and Juliette Wojnas.
