Shrewsbury wins shootout

Sixth-seeded SHS hosted 11th-seeded Nashoba for a first-round Central Mass District 1 boys soccer game. The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation and went through two 10-minute sudden death overtimes with the same result. After the first penalty kick shootout, during which each team missed a shot to end tied 4-4, SHS goalkeeper Evan Stambler saved the first shot of the second shootout by NRHS and SHS's Ian Miller knocked the game-winner home.
