Westborough – Fourteen local authors, representing all types of literary genres, will be participating in the Worcester Writers Collaborative (WCC) “Authors Explosion!” at Tatnuck Bookseller Sunday, Jan. 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to come and meet the authors.
Cheryl Cory, one of the group's founders, said several of the authors will be doing readings from their respective works throughout the day. But while the event is a way to promote the work of the members, it is also an informal forum to share ideas and inspiration, she said.
“We love chatting with others about our books and our experiences,” she said. “Some of us have self-published, and others have gone the traditional route. We have writers who focus on children's literature, romance, thriller, young adult, or comedy – there's something for everyone.”
“We are happy to share what we'se learned – we'se very approachable,” she added. “We'sl also be giving away items like bookmarks and postcards.”
Cory founded the WCC in September with Jessie Olson; since that time, the group has grown to about 50 members, including Michael Colbert of Westborough and N.E. Castle of Shrewsbury. The group meets in Worcester every month or so, Cory said.
“It's a great way to connect with others,” she said, “to share your happiness as well as your frustration with your progress. New members are always welcome to join us.”
Several of the members have done prior book signings at Tatnuck, she noted.
“They are very welcoming to us,” she said, “so it's great to hold [the event] there.”
