The C.A. six tips of the day for April 4

Today is Wednesday, April 4.

On this day in 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, TN by a lone gunman, career criminal James Earl Ray. King, who many acknowledged as the country's most prominent civil-rights leader, was only 39 years old.

On this day in 1933, a dirigible, the “Akron,” crashed in New Jersey, plunging 73 people to their deaths. The accident was one of history's first air disasters.

Today's birthdays include Anthony Perkins (1932), the actor best known for his role in “Psycho”; poet Maya Angelou (1928); and blues guitarist Muddy Waters (1915).

Here are six tips for the day –

2. Sometimes governing laws help one group while hindering another. That is the contention of Northborough officials who recently met with local legislators to voice their frustrations about the commonwealth's laws regarding procurement and prevailing wage.
