Westborough – Local girls are invited to participate in an empowering summer program, “You Go, Girl!” in Westborough starting Monday, July 23. ?The program, geared towards girls ages 11 to 14, will cover such topics with female mentors such as positive female relationship skills, self ?esteem and body image and peer pressure and bullying.
It will not be all serious though – fun activities such as Zumba, yoga, cooking classes and community service projects are also on the slate. Girls will meet four times a week, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Forbes Municipal Building, 45 West Main St. The program will run from July 23 to August 16.
The fee is $150 for the entire session. There is also a sliding fee scale for families who cannot afford this fee – no girl wishing to participate in this group will be denied based upon ability to pay.
“You Go, Girl!” ?is part of the program, “Partnership for Healthy Pathways (PHP),” and is a collaboration between Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SFYS)and Westborough Youth and Family Services (WFYS).
