Marjorie S. Bower, 85Westborough – Marjorie S. “Marge” (Taylor) Bower, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Hubert Bower, who died in 2009.? They were married for 54 years.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Spencer) Taylor, and moved to Westborough in 1960. She spent much of her young life in Malden, was educated in the Malden school system, and attended the Malden Business School.

She went on to work many different jobs in her life, including working as an office clerk at the Chase Paper Co. for 17 years until her retirement.

Marge was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, where she was the keeper of the memorial book for 25 years. She also sang in the church choir and, along with her husband, was active in many other groups and committees at the church.

Marge's family would like to thank the staff at the Overlook Masonic Home for the outstanding care she received and all of the friends , especially her dear friend RoseMarie, for the friendship and help she was given while there.

She is survived by three sons; David Bower and his wife Pat of North Brookfield, Douglas Bower and his wife Lori of Dudley, and Dean Bower of Fairhaven; one brother, Clyde Taylor of California; three grandchildren, Andrew, Kelly, and Stephen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Claire Santoro, and two brothers, Donald and William Taylor.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 10:00 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, 120 West Main St., followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Rand Harper Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., will take place Monday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham MA 01701.
