Holden – The top-seeded Westborough High School Rangers girls” soccer team faced off against the third-seeded Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks for the Central Division 1 championship on Nov. 9 at Wachusett Regional High School. The Tomahawks had provided the Rangers its only loss of the season back on Oct. 19.
Westborough's Olivia McGourty put the Rangers on the board first with a nice goal from the left side, assisted by Rakasa Pattanaik to provide a 1-0 lead after the first half.? Pattanaik added her own goal in the second half to provide the final score of 2-0.
Westborough will now face Minnechaug Regional High School in the state semi-final.
