Obit James M. GauvinConway, S.C. – James M. Gauvin, 64, of Conway, South Carolina, formerly of Northborough, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.

Jim grew up in Northborough, where he attended Algonquin Regional High School. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. After completing his military services, Jim married and moved to Bristol, Connecticut, where he worked for the U.S Postal Service.

Jim and his wife, Maureen (McKinstry) Gauvin, retired and moved to Conway, South Carolina, where they enjoyed playing golf and traveling with friends and neighbors.

He leaves his wife, Maureen; his mother, Lorraine (Trudy) Gauvin of Northborough; two sons, Michael and wife Rebecca of Ludlow; Sean and wife Alicia of Bristol, Conn.; two grandchildren, Kylie and Gabby; his brother, Rick of Northborough; and nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother, Bill, who died in 2003.

A memorial Mass will take place at a later date.
