Worcester – Tanya M. (Marques) Cabral, 31, of Worcester, formerly of Hudson and Douglas, died Monday, June 8, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She is survived by her loving husband of nine years, Roberto T. Cabral, and her cherished son, Lucas, both of Worcester.

Tanya was born in San Diego, Calif. and is survived by her parents, Daniel Marques of Arizona and Mary Diane McFarland of Wyoming. She had resided in Worcester the past six-plus years after living in Hudson from 2003 to 2008. She was a 2002 graduate of Douglas High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State College in 2006.

She had been employed by the Bay State Financial Services Co. in Worcester as a Client Manager.

Tanya enjoyed playing softball in high school and later participating in co-ed softball leagues locally. She looked forward to traveling with family and friends. Most of all, she truly cherished being with her family, especially with her son Lucas.

Tanya’s courage and her unrelenting quest for knowledge about her disease was exemplified in the various cancer support and research groups she joined to help others presently and also in the future. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Besides her husband, son, and parents, she is survived by her brother, Jason Marques of Worcester; her brother-in-law, Kevin Cabral and his wife Eva of Chicopee; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Hudson; her father and mother-in-law, Alfredo and Maria Cabral of Hudson; and her dearest and close friend, Amanda Duffy of Hudson, along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 11, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 10, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
