    School: Algonquin Regional High School
    Class: 2016
    Sport: Tennis
    Coach: Julie Doyle

What are your earliest tennis-related memories?

“My earliest tennis memories were playing tennis with my mom when I was around 10 years old in Vermont. That’s really where I developed my love of the sport.”

Did your mom encourage you to play competitively?

“Yes she did. She played in high school and still plays on club teams. Since I’ve turned 18, we are actually playing on a USTA team together.”

What has it been like playing tennis for the Tomahawks?

“Playing for the Tomahawks has been an amazing experience. My coaches have taught me about not only tennis, but life skills I will take with me for the rest of my life. As for my teammates I have met and become really close friends with these girls. We have shared so many laughs, fun memories of trips to Panera Bread, and great team wins. The sense of community that comes with being a Tomahawk is awesome.”

What has it been like playing for Coach Doyle?

“Mrs. Doyle and Mrs.Comanecky have helped me realize the importance of staying strong during a tennis match and never giving up. They tell us to make smart shots and play aggressively.

What has been the most-special moment of your high school tennis career?

“The best moment of my tennis career was this year when I was playing doubles with my best friend Megan Holmes. Earlier in the week we had played both Shrewsbury’s doubles team and Nashoba’s doubles team, and had lost to both. However, during the individual tournament, we beat them both on the same day, with both matches going to third sets.”

What has it been like working with the young talent coming up on the team?

“I’ve loved being with my younger teammates. We have so many strong young players. They will continue to do amazing things in the future.”

What are your hobbies and interests off the court?

“I like to run but don’t play any other sports competitively. I work for my mom at her financial planning firm, and I love dogs.”

What is your favorite type of music, and artist(s) in that genre?

“I listen to a lot of different music but my favorite artists are Coldplay and Maroon 5.”

What is your favorite class in school?

“My favorite class in school this year was sociology. I loved talking about why things are the way they are. My teacher Mr. Barry introduced some controversial topics that got everyone into the conversation.”

Have you decided on where you’ll attend college in the fall?

“I will be attending Bentley University in the fall and will be majoring in finance.”
