Marlborough – Helen T. (Marr) Connors, 97, of Marlborough, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hearthstone at New Horizons. Her husband of 52 years, Robert P. Connors, died last year.
She was born Wilmington and was raised in Millis, the daughter of the late Bernard and Catherine (Slavin) Marr, and was a graduate of Millis High School. Helen was also a graduate of Emmanuel College, and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Assumption College.
She was a teacher in Marlborough and Northborough Public Schools for 38 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Marlborough Country Club and the Massachusetts Retired State County and Municipal Employees Association.
Helen leaves five nephews, Robert K. Connors of Westborough, James Marr of Hopkinton, Richard Connors of Southborough, Francis Connors of Dowington, Pa., and Philip Connors of Sudbury; two nieces, Elizabeth Kelso of Nashville, Tenn. and Jean Dion of Hudson; and many grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by four siblings, Walter, Francis and Bernard Marr and Mary Diggins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 29, at 11 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. A time of visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
