Shrewsbury – Alex D. Stolicny, of Shrewsbury, passed away June 20, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Alex was born and raised in Shrewsbury. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2012 and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management in 2016. Alex was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity – Gamma Chapter where he served as Chapter Treasurer. He earned his CPA in 2017 and was employed as a Senior Associate in Asset Management for PwC in Boston.
Alex loved to travel and explore new cultures and people. This love of travel was paired with his interest in photography. He studied abroad in Cuba and fell in love with the country and its people. Above all, Alex was known for his huge heart and kindness to others. Truly, to know Alex was to love him and he leaves behind many good friends.
Alex is survived by his loving mother, Carol Stolicny of Worcester; father, Michael Stolicny and companion Ann Fogarty of Shrewsbury; brother, Jason Stolicny of Baltimore, Md.; and grandparents, Bill and Judy Bond of Pittsboro, N.C. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joan Royals Stolicny and Joseph F. Stolicny of Conn. He is also survived by loving family, including aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Alex’s life by gathering for calling hours Monday, June 25, from 3-6 p.m., at The Chiampa Funeral Home, ~Sumner House~, 5 Church Rd., On the Common, Shrewsbury. His funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date.
