Northborough – The 28th annual Applefest Parade took place on a warm and sunny Sept. 16 in downtown Northborough. Honored as grand marshal was lifelong Northborough resident Roger Leland, senior partner of Leland Law Associates and currently a member of the town’s Financial Planning Committee.

Other parade participants included state and town officials, civic and school groups, local and visiting bands, political candidates, as well as owners of antique and classic vehicles. A number of floats represented organizations and businesses. The Aleppo Shriners mini-vehicles brigade amused spectators.

Town Moderator Fred George narrated the parade proceedings. Participants kept hydrated with bottled water personally distributed by Applefest Committee Chair Michelle Gillespie.
