Shrewsbury bids farewell to beloved library director

Shrewsbury – It is traditional for retirement luncheons to be held for longtime employees. But in an era of a pandemic, it must be done a bit differently. So on the afternoon of April 1, Shrewsbury department heads and managers held a remote retirement lunch to celebrate the retirement of Ellen Dolan, former library director.

Dolan started her position in 2005 and was essential in coordinating the successful renovation and expansion of the Shrewsbury Public Library.

On the town’s Facebook page noting the party, this message was also included: “We wish her well and thank her for all of her hard work and dedication over the past 15 years! Thank you Ellen!”
