Stephen W. OsikShrewsbury – Stephen W. Osik, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Aug. 28, 2021, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 56 years of the late Joan M. (Pickett) Osik.

He was born May 27, 1934 in Norwich, Conn., the son of the late Stephen V. and Josephine (Lewerk) Osik. Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1954-1958. After leaving the Air Force, he completed two years of electronics school in Boston. He used that training in his work for nearly 40 years at Adcole Corp.

During his time at Adcole Corp, he was very proud to have been a part of the production of Aerospace components used on the first spaceships to land on the moon, the Mars Pathfinder, and other numerous satellites.

In his spare time, he was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, going to the beach and ice skating on local frozen ponds. He was a board member of the Shrewsbury Sportsman Club and founded the annual fishing derby that was a favorite part of the Spirit of Shrewsbury for many years. He played football in high school at the Norwich Free Academy and was an avid sports fan, always following New England teams while still maintaining his affinity for the New York Yankees. His all-time favorite teams were the teams for whom his grandchildren played and he loved to watch all of them. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He especially loved time spent with his family.

Steve is survived by his four children, Diana Granger and her husband Paul of Aurora, CO, Todd Osik and his wife Christine of Shrewsbury, Stacy Richard and her husband Mark of Hampstead, NH., and Audrey Fisher and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury; loving grandfather of nine grandchildren, Stephanie and Rachael Granger, Drew and Derek Osik, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Matthew Richard, Davis and Cole Fisher; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Janet Truman.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m., in St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Interment with military honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, all attendees are kindly asked to be vaccinated, wear face coverings and practice social distancing while at the church and cemetery.
