George J. MurphyGrafton/Northbridge – George J. Murphy, 65, passed away January 31, 2022, at Milford Regional Medical Center from complications from cancer over several years.

He leaves his two sons, Jeffrey Murphy, Brian Murphy and Chelsey Colpitts, his siblings Robert Murphy and his girlfriend Cindy Parkhurst, Nancy Glassman and her husband Stuart, Thomas Murphy, and John Murphy and his wife Melissa and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother David Murphy and his former wife Judith Ronchetti.

George was born July 18, 1956, in Wellesley, MA and his roots were there but he relocated to Grafton where he lived for more than 40 years. He was a carpenter by trade, found work as a handyman at St. Philip’s Church in Grafton and also with Gadoury Home Builders in Northbridge more recently.

George had a unique way of keeping his mind active; whether it was snowmobiling in the winter, 4-wheeling in the summer, taking apart a dirtbike in his living room, or just helping his friends with a home renovation, he enjoyed staying busy.

All are welcome to gather with George’s family Wednesday, February 9th from 4pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for George Thursday, February 10th at 11:00am at St. Philip’s Church on West St. in Grafton. He will then be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Grafton.
