Unlike some local governments waging culture wars around our country, the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen have governed by sticking to issues, ideas and policy and I have watched Selectman, John Samia’s votes play out doing just that.
He supported the Town Manager to develop a long term financial model that is being used as a tool for strategic planning and has become indispensable during the pandemic!
John voted to have the Board set strategic goals and priorities, which proved to me that John is a true visionary, making use of his financial analytics background.
Moreover, by voting for the Shrewsbury 2030 Strategic Plan, he proved to me that he truly listens to all residents’ needs.
John, with his insight, advocated that the Town Manager, and the School Committee meet regularly to keep abreast of issues and maintain a cooperative relationship. A valuable exchange, in my opinion, that helps to ensure the overrides effectiveness.
John, along with the Board, are reviewing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force report and I believe John will act upon many of the task force’s recommendations.
May I recommend you vote for John Samia for Selectman!
