Patricia F. GalloNorthborough – Patricia F. (Fontano) Gallo, 81, of Northborough and formerly of Rutland, VT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home after an illness. Her loving family surrounded her bedside as she passed.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sal J. Gallo, in August of 2017. Patricia leaves her devoted children, Kimberly G. Church, Kelley A. Gallo, Lisa Ruberti and her husband David, and Daniel J. Gallo; her grandchildren, Sean C. Church and his sister Emily S. Church, Shea Gallo-Kolegue, Deven S. Ruberti, Dylan P. Ruberti, and Angelina M. Ruberti; her loving brother-in-law, James Gallo; her nieces and nephews, Andrew Gallo, Tracy Niebauer, Ann Marie Gilroy, Jennifer Birchler, and Timothy Shedd; as well as her loving extended family and friends.

Patricia was born and raised in Rutland, VT, the only child of the late Louis J. and Marie C. (Keough) Fontano. She was a proud graduate of Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing, in New York City, where she began her career. Patricia later earned her Bachelor’s degree at New England College of New Hampshire. She capped off her career as an expert in home health care with Merrimack Valley Nursing, in Lowell, MA.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bocce, Mahjong, bowling, card games, and loved her daily Boston Globe cross-word puzzle. She was a fabulous cook, baker, and perfect dinner hostess. She was an avid reader and adored reading a good mystery. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her loving children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and closest friends. She never missed a sporting event, concert, musical recital, graduation, and especially a party!

Patricia unselfishly made time for everyone who was important in her life and, with the kindness in her heart, graciously demonstrated compassion and empathy for those in need. She appreciated all of the gifts bestowed upon her in her 81 healthy years and made certain her family knew how special we are, in her heart. Patricia will continue to live on in our hearts, memories, and dreams. Have no regrets. Live life to its fullest and be happy.

This is how Patricia would want us to remember and HONOR her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as she was a generous donor herself (https://www.jimmyfund.org/ and https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html).
