Northborough – Constance A. Giroux, 85 years old, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 surrounded by the supportive love of her family. Connie, as she was affectionately known, was the devoted wife of Joseph R. Giroux for 66 years and the beloved mother of six children, Joseph Giroux Jr., and his wife Janet, William Giroux, Phillip Giroux, Kevin Giroux and his wife Joy, Keith Giroux, and Cindy Drost and her husband Jeffrey. She also was the loving mémère to her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Southbridge, Connie was the oldest of five children to the late John Baptiste E. and Agnes D. (Bartlett) Cadarette. She is survived by her brother, Richard Cadarette and her sister, Jeanne Rondeau. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Giroux, and her brother, Pete (Eugene) Cadarette.
Connie devoted her life to caring for her family and her home of 61 years in Northborough. She enjoyed her family’s many activities and looked forward to having everyone together. A favorite tradition was hosting Christmas Eve at her home. Always good natured with a fun wit about her, Connie and her family enjoyed the jokes and surprises they would share together. She was a longtime follower of the Boston Red Sox and found pleasure in cooking, dancing, knitting, creating puzzles and playing games.
Following Connie’s wishes, there are no calling hours. Her funeral will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 4, in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
In lieu of flowers, the Giroux family respectfully suggests memorial donations in Connie’s name be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://act.alz.org).
