Hudson – Hudson native Robert A. “Bob” Mortenson, 86, died Oct. 5, 2022 in Parker, Colorado. His survivors include his brother Richard Mortenson of Stow, formerly of Hudson.
Robert Mortenson was born in Hudson to Walmer and Ethel (Smith) Mortenson and graduated from Hudson High School in 1954. He held degrees from several colleges, including his doctorate, and retired as associate dean at the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 2000. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Edythe Lorraine (Halstrom) Mortenson, two sons, a daughter and a brother, Steve Mortenson. Besides his brother, Richard, he is survived by two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Oct. 12, 2022 at Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, Meriden, Iowa, followed by military rites and interment at Liberty Township Cemetery, Rural Meriden, Iowa.
