Lorraine E. DoretWestborough – Lorraine Elmira (Allen) Doret passed away August 5, 2023 at the young age of 102, at Whitney Place, an Assisted Living Facility in Westborough, MA where she lived close to her son, Stephen Doret.

Lorraine was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 25, 1921.  She was the daughter of Archibald and Marion Allen.  Lorraine grew up in Roxborough, PA and attended the local schools there and graduated from Roxborough High School in 1939.

Once she completed her high school years, she entered Germantown General Hospital and trained for three years as a registered nurse. She graduated from there in 1942.  It was here that she met her future husband, Dr. Stanley Doret, to whom she was married for 52 years.

Lorraine spent the majority of her married years in Greenfield, MA, where she raised 3 children.  Lorraine loved to sing, and she devoted much of her time to singing at the First Baptist Church in Greenfield and was often a soloist. She also sang with the Pioneer Valley Symphony and the Sweet Adeline’s, often competing with other Sweet Adeline groups.  She loved to go out to eat and could often be seen with her friends bowling and putting on parties.  She was a fabulous cook and could make a great apple pie! Lorraine loved to travel and traveled with her daughter, Sandra, to Ireland, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Germany and Alaska as well as several other trips with her friends from the Willows, an independent living setting for seniors.

Lorraine is predeceased by her husband who passed away in 1995.  She is survived by her three children, Stanley Doret and his wife, Margaret, Sandra Earl and her husband, Wayne and Stephen Doret and his wife, Gretchen. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be private.
