Hudson – Frederick J. Kerwin of Hudson, 87 years old died on Veterans Day Saturday November 11th,2023 after a period of declining health.

Fred is predeceased by his Wife of 62 years Lucille Kerwin and is survived by sons Robert Kerwin and his wife Diane Kerwin of Groton, MA, Brian Kerwin and his partner Sandy Swanfeldt of Northborough, MA as well as four Grandchildren Matthew Kerwin, Michael Kerwin, Megan Kerwin and Tyler Kerwin.

Fred was born and raised in Malden MA, and leaves behind his sister Barbara Tower of Abington as well as several nieces, nephews and predeceased brothers Leonard Kerwin, Bobby Kerwin, and Thomas Feltrup.

Attending Malden High School in the early 1950’s Fred was an avid three sport athlete playing football, hockey, and baseball.

Fred entered into the Air Force after high school and attended Radio and Electronic school in 1955. Ultimately being stationed in Honolulu, Fred served as radio operator and navigator flying weather reconnaissance missions throughout the Pacific.

Upon returning from the Air Force Fred met Lucille and married in 1961. As newlyweds Lucille and Fred settled near extended family in East Boston on Bennington Street until 1967 when they moved to Hudson MA for their first home on Rolling Lane.

In the early years of their marriage Fred worked multiple jobs and attended evening school at The Frankin Institute earning an associate degree in Electronics.

Fred had an outstanding and successful working career. Early in his professional career Fred worked for EG&G as an Electronic Technician in the late 1960’s. Later Fred spent 25 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he held various sales and marketing positions ultimately becoming a top producing Sales Representative earning many awards and accolades.

A lifelong member of the Hudson Elks, Fred also enjoyed golf and was a member of the Berlin Country Club for many years during his retirement. Avid travelers Fred and Lucille traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.

A decades-long member of Christ the King Church and Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson Fred took pride in being a devoted Catholic.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10 AM – 12PM on Monday November 20, 2023, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A brief Funeral Service will begin at 12pm at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, followed by a procession to the Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson MA.
