Majria KuzmanovskiShrewsbury – Majria Kuzmanovski, 91, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on  Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital.

Marija, known to many as “Mare” or “Baba” was born on November 16, 1932, in Bitola, Macedonia a daughter of the late Andon and Vasilija Talevski, and emigrated to the United States in 1967. Raised and educated in Macedonia she and her husband owned and operated a textile manufacturing company where she was a seamstress.

Upon settling in the States she worked at Astra Pharmaceuticals Corporation in Westborough.

Marija was an avid cook and baked what were known as ‘Baba Cookies’ and baklava for friends and strangers. She was devoted to being a caretaker her whole life including caring for her siblings at a young age, then for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many who considered her ‘everyone’s baba’ because of her offer of food and warmth to anyone near or far.

In addition to her late husband, Ljupco Kuzmanovski, son, Kiro Kuzmanovski and daughter, Sonja Altiparmakov, she is  predeceased by her siblings, Miladin Talevski and Danica Josifovska.

She leaves behind her granddaughter, Vanessa Kuzmanovski and her husband Eric Hague of West Boylston, and their two daughters Kira and Vienna Hague; her grandson Dimitar Altiparmakov; her granddaughter Kelsey Friedlander and her husband Alex Friedlander, and their daughter, Alessi Friedlander; her sister Ljubica Petrovska and brother Lazar Talevski.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marija’s life by gathering at Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Monday, November 27, 2023. Her funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
