Margaret A. TumeinskiShrewsbury – Margaret A. Tumeinski of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Christmas day at the age of 89. Peg was born in New Bedford to Irene Lemerise and Thomas Nadeau.

She is survived by Curtis and his wife Linda of Westboro, Neil and his wife Barbara of Westport, Paula Hammerick of Mattapoisett, Gregg and his wife Amy of Ashland, Marc and his wife Jo of Worcester. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Justin (Jennifer), Brandin (Tracy), Leland (Shaun Gallagher), Courtney (Peter Lavin), Peter (Emily), Ethan and Jake; seven great-grandchildren, as well as two nieces, Lynne Freitas (Tim Lyons), Anne Pegolo (Dean), and nephew John Freitas (Mary). She was predeceased by her nephew Jeffrey Freitas, her sisters Claire Freitas and Dorothy Sperling, her brother Ernest Nadeau, her son-in- law Walter Hammerick and by her husband Ronald.

Peg and Ron were married for 62 years. Peg lived in Shrewsbury since 1987, most recently at Southgate, and prior to that, spent 23 years in Westborough where she enjoyed some of her happiest times. She dedicated her married life to raising her children and to loving her growing family.

As a wife, Peg was unwavering in her love for her husband. As a Mom, she was proud of her children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She loved vacationing on the Cape with Ron and in later years with close friends.

Peg was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending her summer days caring for her ever expanding garden. She also enjoyed crafts and decorating her home for the holidays.

Peg was active as a eucharistic minister in her parish church and later in the Catholic chapel at Southgate.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home ~Sumner House~ 5 Church Rd., On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, Tuesday, January 2nd from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Route 30, Westborough.
