Marion PolonWestborough – Marion Tina Polon, age 78, died peacefully on Monday, January 8 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Westborough, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Marion was the only child of Joseph and Judith Polon of New Hyde Park, New York. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her daughter, Rachel Fornal of Shrewsbury and her husband, Michael; her son, Seth Rogin of New York City and his husband, Andrew Bernis; her cherished grandchildren Michael, Bethany, Zachary, and Nicole Fornal; and her beloved cousin Gail Siegel and her husband Michael.

Marion graduated from the University of Rochester (after attending the prestigious Eastman School of Music) and from Hofstra Law School. She practiced law as a partner in the firm Polon & Glicksman, LLP on Long Island for much of her career.

A fierce advocate for the underdog and for the rights of women, Marion regularly volunteered legal services to women in need of shelter, protection, or assistance. She fought for causes that benefited those whose rights, food, or safety were in jeopardy.

A skilled pianist, she particularly loved to play the music of Beethoven and Chopin, earning her the title of “Piano Grandma” from her grandchildren. Her quick laughter, intelligence, and selfless dedication to her family will be remembered always.

The memorial service will be private.
