Barbara A. LysethShrewsbury – Barbara A. (Mulholland Riguette) Lyseth, of Shrewsbury, died on Wednesday March 21, 2024 at St Mary Health Care Center in Worcester. She was 88 years old.

Barbara was born to Julia Mulholland on November 15, 1935 in Princeton, ME.

She graduated from Princeton High School in 1953. And soon after went to work in Grant’s Department Store in Portland. In 1955, Barbara married Mark Riguette and relocated to Lexington MA. He predeceased her in 1963.

In 1967, Barbara married Philip Lyseth and settled in Mansfield MA. Due to Phil’s job transfers, Barbara became quite skilled at packing up the house, kids and dogs and starting out in a new place. The final move was to Shrewsbury, MA in 1971.

Once settled in Shrewsbury, Barbara went to work at Howard Johnson’s in Shrewsbury as a hostess for several years. A place where she would make many longtime friends.

She then moved to Paul Revere Insurance. Barbara was the Manager of their food / banquet services. But eventually moved over to the other side of the house as an Underwriter. A job she enjoyed immensely until her retirement. But being Barbara, she was unable to sit still for long. She went on to serve as the church secretary for the First Baptist Church in Shrewsbury. She was also very active at Faith Baptist Church in Auburn.

Barbara had many passions. But none were more important to her than her Faith and her Family. Although, the Red Sox ranked pretty high as well. Barbara could often be found spending time in her garden, or on other projects as they occurred to her. Along with her on many of these adventures would often be her grandchildren. And later visitors included her great-grandchildren.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband Phil who died in 2016; with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her mother Julia and her brother Arthur.

She is survived by her five children: Kevin Lyseth of North Grafton, Karen Baker and her husband Jeffery of Worcester and their three daughters, Jacqueline Letourneau, Monica Hall and Renee Beaulieu, Kerry Cronin and her husband Steven of Worcester, Keith Lyseth of Northboro and his two daughters Margaret and Emma Lyseth, and Kimberly Dumais-Hutt and her husband Richard Hutt of Worcester and her two children Marc and Anastasia Dumais. As well as a sister Nancy Higgins of Conway AR. She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Harper and Riley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara’s life on Thursday March 28, 2024 by gathering for calling hours from 11am-1pm at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, MA 01520. This is to be followed by a Funeral Service at the same location.

A private burial for the immediate family will take place at a later date.

The family would like to offer sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St Mary Health Care Center for the compassionate and loving care they gave Barbara over the years she was a resident. Your kindness is much appreciated.
