High school scoreboard: Teams welcome return of student fans as winter season continues

318

REGION – This weekend’s blizzard wiped out part of the local high school sports schedule.

Teams proceeded with other games and contests earlier in the week though, continuing their push through the winter season as playoffs now approach.

For area programs in the Mid-Wach League, games on Friday also marked a welcome return of student spectators.

The league had banned such fans earlier this month due to the rapid uptick in COVID-19 cases that coincided with the spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.

It then revisited that decision earlier last week, opting to remove its student spectator restriction, effective on Friday.
